World Cup's over now. Porcupine Tree won and bla bla bla.

I just couldn't resist the temptation of seeing what would have happened if Opeth had reached the finals.

So, just for fun, pick your favorite. I'm pretty sure Porcupine Tree will win, but not by far.

Opeth.

No knock on PT, which I can say I've enjoyed every album until "The Incident" but few (if any) WOW me. Like they are good, some are pretty good, but none knock my socks off. Which Opeth certainly has!
Also the metal/growls in Opeth provides some more variation.

Yep, Porcupine Tree for me, by a long shot!

(even though Opeth are not shabby at all either!)

But I voted PTree, if even because I find `Signify' to be one of THE very best modern progressive albums, and I have spent a lot of time (and money!) on their back catalogue over the last ten + years!

I thought of doing that. But the Opeth-Riverside score turned me down. So I chose to do this poll instead. Which was the final match lots of us were expecting before Riverside took over Opeth.

I'm voting Opeth here to prove a point :)

The very creation of this poll under these circumstances is kind of warped and serves no purpose than to add controversy.  There are going to be a lot of votes for Opeth just to mess with the results and create pages of people lamenting 'what if'.

I appreciate that there are a good amount of Opeth fans out there, but this is not the first time that they haven't won a poll in this tournament, IQ beat them out of the preliminary round.

At some point, I think you need to acknowledge that Riverside is a pretty good band and obviously well liked on this site.

(and no, I can't actually bring myself to vote for Opeth)
