I thought I'd post my band Collecting Space's new record 'Subside here. I recorded the whole album myself short of the drums, which we did at a 'real' studio. It was mastered by Jon Fintel here in Columbus, OH. It's posted on our website to check out as a pay what you want download. I'd say it's more crossover prog than anything, but I'll leave that up to the community to decide. I am a long time lurker at PA - you guys got me into almost everything I listen to these days.

Here's the link - http://store.collectingspace.net

It's also streaming on SoundCloud http://soundcloud.com/collecting-space/sets/subside/

Thanks,

Kaleb Burkhart

Lots of dredg and Porcupine Tree influence, I assume? Nice stuff, anyway, and should be a fine candidate for xover.

Thanks for the kind words! Yeah, we love both bands. El Cielo is a masterpiece.

I say YES.
There's a point where "avant-garde" and "experimental" becomes "terrible" and "pointless,"

So far, you have one YES and one NO vote. Three more votes to go, of which 2 have to be affirmative ones.

Am I correct in seeing that we just had two positive replies? One from you, one from Andyman1125. Sorry if I'm missing something.

Unfortunately wrong, because only I am part of this 5 man Crossover Prog team, while Andyman is part of Heavy Prog&Prog Metal teams (of genres) and also of New Suggestions, which means he looks after new suggestions, tells teams when we overlook the band here in this section and things like that.

This should help you, you can both see here how you progress and also how much "New" bands (which haven't been cleared/rejected yet) we have. I am afraid that speed of voting process now will be slower (because of Holidays), but that's to be expected.

Indeed, mysterious are the ways of PA adding process, so help is usually needed.
