Hello! I'd like to start a list of prog tracks that are funny or that you think are funny, be it by the voices, the instrumentation, or whatever!

I´ll add the first cent with the first track from Airlord´s Clockwork Revenge... hilarious voices, specially the NAAH NAH NAH NAH NAH NAH! LOL

Add your tracks and let's have some fun Thumbs Up

The classic vocalizations on "Hocus Pocus" by Focus.  Depending on your mood, it can make you laugh...

If I'm in the right mood, the "growling" in A Nightmare to Remember by DT can make me crack up.  (good song otherwise, though).

I know I'll get blasted for this, but I think it's hillarious... "Benny the Bouncer" (ELP)

I think Genesis can often be humorous in some songs, but it adds to their awesomeness...

Hangover by Max Webster. Kim Mitchell's voice in the song cracks me up and the lyrics are so cheesy.

Lumpy Gravy never fails to make me smile and depending on yer mood or orientation, the Residents can be hilarious and/or plain vanilla creepy

Yes, Lumpy Gravy is one the funniest albums ever IMO, and the way it switches from silly to actually dead serious is interesting. And I agree about The Residents, though some parts of tracks off the debut are always funny.

I like humour in prog, but the novelty can wear thin on repeated listening, until it ruins the track completely. Aisle Of Plenty anyone? It's just not funny anymore after 25+ listens, and there's not much else to it past the puns...

This is my recommendation though, a good song with humorous elements. When it's no longer funny, it still stands as a good song, so we get the best of both worlds.

Mr Bungle's "Squeeze me Macaroni" and "Girls of Porn" are hysterical, if you like very crude and bizzare humour. Two of my favorites with them actually.

Lot's of Zappa's songs are really funny, both lyrical and sometimes even compositional sillyness.

Swedish RIO legends Samla Mammas Manna's music often contains a lot of humor, but are especially funny for scandinavian people. Like FZ, they have very playful but complex songs that is filled with subtile humor.

I am generally not a fan of "funny" music becaue I think it losses a lot of the impact after you hear it once.

That being said, almost everything by the band Sparks is hilarious and rewards repeat listenings.

Oh and regarding a more fun rockin' track, then how about Area's Vodka Cola? Doo Wop, fusion, circus music and mad yodeling all crammed together in one magnificent song to make something entirely unique and scrumptiousSax man
