With the news that Black Sabbath’s Tony Iommi has been diagnosed with the early stages of lymphoma, his bandmates would like everyone to send positive vibes to the guitarist at this time. Iommi is currently working with his doctors to establish the best treatment plan--the “IRON MAN” of Rock & Roll remains upbeat and determined to make a full and successful recovery.

This comes as Black Sabbath--Ozzy Osbourne (vocals), Tony Iommi (guitar), Geezer Butler (bass) and Bill Ward (drums)--are writing and recording their first album in 33 years in Los Angeles (still set for release this fall) with producer Rick Rubin. They will now go to the UK to continue to work with Tony. Further information will be released as it becomes available.

That's sad news.

Also, could you bear in mind that those of us in advanced middle age might have some difficulty reading something so small as to be positively minute? Cheers!

Hey I'm 23 and I couldn't even read that LOL

Definitely hoping Tony beats this, if he can survive thirty years of Black Sabbath he can hopefully overcome his illness.Thumbs Up

Since it had been diagnosed in an early stage, we can hope that Iommi is far from the tomb.

You never know! It all depends on how physically healthy he is & he does appear to be.

There're all sorts of lymphoma, whether early or not.

Do hope he has no rapidly progressive lymphoma, and will get better soon, by cytotoxic agents or radiation.

Hopefully the iron man recovers as well as my mom did. Lymphoma cancer is one of the most treatable, but you never know.
I guess this puts a hold on the Black Sabbath tour. Confused

I was really overwhelmed with sadness when I heard this, knowing what a horrible disease this can be. My grandfather lost the battle with lymphoma; hopefully Tony won't.
