Tell me what do you think is the best version of this anthem. I'm not very patriotic of the queen but I heard a lot of versions of the song I enjoyed and I would like to cover one as a joke (in Quebec it can really be a big joke) so that's it.
La victoire est éphémère mais la gloire est éternelle!

- Napoléon Bonaparte

Any version conducted by the late Sir Thomas Beecham (not sure if he actually recorded it, but he did it live many times)

Nope, much as I love the Giant, even their take on it doesn't manage to lift it from the dreary, dirgey depths. It's a rubbish tune, no matter how you dick about with it. Tongue

I dunno, if only there was a way to strip out the British lyrics and Americanize it somehow...

No one mentionned Queen in the best versions. That's odd, I don't find it better than the other but it's famous.

Hate to say this, but I think Queen's is better than Giant's.

The worst is done by Ingerlund footie fans...

My country, 'tis of thee,
Sweet land of liberty,
Of thee I sing;
Land where my fathers died,
Land of the pilgrims' pride,
From ev'ry mountainside
Let freedom ring!
