Only one good rush album so my choice is
Close to the Edge / Farewell to Kings.. only so much of Lee's chipmunk vocals I can stand

A Farewell To Kings who live Close To The Edge get my vote, but I really don't feel that I could go wrong with any set of those 2 albums.

Going For The One is the best Yes album, Moving Pictures is the best Rush. This was not hard.

Good matchups. The bands did seem to be leading parallel existences for much of the time.
I picked Moving Pictures (favorite Rush album) and Going for the One (one of my top 3 Yes albums). |

Second honourable vote for debuts. Raw. Non-mannered. Straight.

I chose Close to the Edge / A Farewell to Kings because of Close to the Edge but if I liked Tales a bit more I would've choose the other one because Hemispheres is a far better album then A Farewell to the Kings for my ears.
