This is a new and very cool italian progressive band.

They just came out with their new single on iTunes.

Have a look, because the might have a good career!

Hmmm...at first it seemed it might be a bit premature to be suggesting them for addition to the database.

http://www.facebook.com/femprogband - no samples yet on the bandpage, and http://www.femprogband.it/ site down for maintenance when I just tried to access it.

They've existed since 2007 according to the facebook bio, but YouTube samples also seemed a bit thin on the ground - all I found was this live recording in a pub, uploaded, it seems, by the band themselves:

But then I found this: http://www.reverbnation.com/femprogband (still only one sample though)...

And finally I found this: http://www.myspace.com/femprogband, and lo and behold - 7 songs, worth about half an hour's music...(eight if you count the one on reverbnation, which is a completely different song, giving us almost another 4 minutes, and the iTunes single which is another 8 minutes 24 seconds), and that is probably more than enough for adding to RPI (which is where they will doubtless be heading).

Despite my initial doubts when I saw the facebook page and the band's non-functioning website, this is actually very fine music indeed.

I don't know if there is actually an album available to purchase besides the iTunes single - it doesn't seem like it from what I have found out so far, but if this isn't a problem then go for it, RPI team!!

Hi yam yam,

I'm a good friend and a great fan of the band!
There is so poor material about on the web because theyi chagend mark up several times and because they used to be just a cover band.
Now they are working on two different albums. The single on youtube is taken from the one that they are going to record rght now.

About the website, it is brand new and the webmaster assured to me that it will be online tomorrow.

Hi emso. Welcome to the forum! Handshake
Do you have any more information regarding the albums' likely completion dates, titles etc?

It is usually a progarchives requirement that a band has at least one album or reasonably substantial EP released and available before they can be considered for evaluation. There is no doubting the quality of material on offer here in my own mind, but the team may decide to wait until one or other of the albums has actually been released before proceeding with the evaluation. They would need the tracklist (ideally with timings), album art, band personnel actually playing on the album etc. to be able to make a page for them. The bio on facebook which we already have will be fine, I would think.

Thanks!  Thumbs Up

Hi!

I know that their first work is a concept album. It is based on this novel:

They recorded a demo with the first 5 tracks (the songs on myspace), but they thought it was too much as a debut album. According to that they developed 4 new tracks to come out with an EP as their first work.
This song on itunes is a parte of that EP.
Since they are about to record the rest I think that in a couple of month the EP will be distributed...

By the way I just checked... the site is online now!!!!

Prog on!!!

Seems obviously prog to me, but they can't be evaluated if they don't have an official release, no matter how many tracks they have on myspace. Wink
So when the album or an EP (that's not a demo) comes out, feel free to bump this thread.

Unless, of course, I'm mistaken and they have an EP or album already out...

Ok my friends!

I'll let you know when! Hope soon!

There is another thread where they can place a link to their music?

Right here is the best place to tell us where to find samples of the band's music - that way the forum monitors can make sure it gets put in the most appropriate evaluation team's chart to start with.

However, if links to the samples are not yet available for (legitimate) public listening, and the band want to keep it that way, you could get them to send the links via private message to one of R.P.I. team members, (which is the sub genre I am assuming they might best fit in) such as Finnforest or seventhsojourn, or perhaps better still, to one of the two guys who monitor this forum: Andy Webb or harmonium.ro, who would then pass the links to the members of the appropriate team.

Edit: Andy's username updated.
