^ I look at the song list you post from time to time. I don't know too many of the bands on lucas's list ( guess I don't get out much)
Just wondering since its a prog show, no Yes, Crimson, Genesis, Floyd, ELP, Rush, Tull, Zappa, Marillion, Camel, Porcupine Tree, Renaissance. ...? ( I do see these artists on Dutch Progs lists) Is it mostly newer stuff?

Hi Argo, I have a challenge with this show: try to never repeat a band from one show to the other. I started in 2013, so you can see that the usual suspects in prog had easily time to be aired within 6 years. Now, on to the obscure bands/artists: in order not to repeat a band from one show to the other, you have to dig the more obscure stuff at one point when all the usual suspects were played. That's what happened for the past 2 years. Not all those artists/bands are labeled "prog rock" but they all have something that makes them appeal to a prog audience. Progheads like complex music, so there is modern classical, free/avant-garde music, electronic prog, jazz-rock, besides lighter stuff like dreampop, shoegaze, minimal techno, ambient, which are also genres that usually appeal to the most demanding music lovers. And, the goal is also to show that "prog rock" (you probably know it from a simple look at the subgenres displayed on progArchives home page) is not limited to rock music, but deals with very varied sounds and is present in even the most unexpected areas. The best compliment I once was given on my show was that "it doesn't sound like any other prog show". Cheers. Lucas
