They have the album at my local shop, I might just go get it tonight.

It seems nice that all of the compositions are more concise with less of the weird instrumental noodling.
They got in a lot of arguments during the creation of this album so maybe they'll break up soon

Ive been hearing rumors lately this may be the last Mars Volta record; both on the internet, and from real live people.

Well someone told me they know someone who knows people in the Mars Volta camp, and that he overheard some things about a possible break up. Ive also been reading some somewhat negative things online, such as the whole Omar-dictator thing, and stuff about former members feelings about leaving/getting kicked out, and in-fighting with the current line-up.
I hope all of this all stays what it is; rumors. Edited by darkshade - March 23 2012 at 14:43 |

It'd be a bummer if they broke up, but it definitely seems possible. Also, it seems reasonable to quit while they're ahead. But Omar and Cedric seem to be great friends and aren't nearly as angsty as they were with the ATDI members back in the day, so maybe everything will be fine.

I believe and hope the band is going to continue making music, but as more of a band instead of a one-sided dictatorship. But in an excerpt of a soon to be released Finnish interview Omar said that right now he's very tired of even thinking about TMV, perhaps making Noctourniquet was a really exhausting experience.

This. Or they could give the reigns back to Omar - seeing that worked very well ![]() But i don't think he enjoys that too much anymore, he called himself a dictator in an interview you linked. |

Likewise, it's really amazing. Last half is my favorite with Zed and Two Naughts as my favorite song right now.

It's very good, better than I expected, though I can't say it tops the first 4 albums. It has some classic TMV songs, especially in the first half of the album. The first 5 songs are absolutely great.
There's a couple of songs that drag it down in the second half, though I don't recall the names of the songs right now, but they're a little boring. I'm still giving it more listens to sink in. |

It beats Octahedron and Bedlam for sure. Much more consistent and exciting.
I could beat one of the "Holy Trinity" albums later one.

Listening for the first time and I'm very favorably impressed. I really liked Octahedron unlike most, but this has to me a very new sound which is great for a band this far along in their career. |

Current Listening:
Heater valve kicking on. Snotty noses being blown. Griping. Maybe cookies coming out of the oven??? C is for cookie, and it is good enough for me. |

It lived up to the single, which I happened to like A LOT.

There aren't enough places to post about TMV here. But check it bro.
A tape has sprung up from Cedric and Omar's past. From 2005. ![]() http://soundcloud.com/kingbradley/mini-cassette-tape-baby-bix then check this : http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120931345299 |
