![]() Last Saturday Minden saw a psychedelic space rock party at the location 'Papagei' which definitely reminded me of the good old 1970's. Nearly hundred people came together in a pleasant mood and celebrated a special evening, food and drinks for low prices inclusive. ![]() GOLDKANTE opened this inspired event - a trio which plays totally improvised space rock in the vein of Oresund Space Collective in a wider sense, speaking of extended jams featuring a bunch of guitar variations, a unique and fascinating element is that the drummer uses his voice like an additional instrument here and there. They are in the act of producing their debut album. ![]() The experienced space/trance outfit WELTRAUM this time appeared with a reduced line-up (didgeridoo and second guitarist missing) - but surprised with a highly energetic kick-off. Propulsive drums and percussion, a fuzzy guitar, quirky synths - this ultimately impressed the audience. They convince with joy of playing and excellent interaction - so overall this has been an entertaining performance. ![]() ![]() Edited by Rivertree - January 16 2012 at 16:46 |

Indeed, thanks! I miss good ol' space rock!
Chicago was once considered the "capital of space rock" (early 1970's) with local bands like Stratosled, and constant presence by Amon Duul II etc.!
