How is that album?  I have their other one with the Roger Dean album cover.
Really? Wow, you're the first person I've ever met who's even heard of these guys.

The one I'm listening to is very rough and somewhat lo-fi.  The Roger Dean cover one ("the Moray Eels Eat the Space Needle")  is much more produced by comparison.  This album has a few well-developed tracks but quite a few endurance-testing noisy experiments too.
I bought the album that I have strictly because I saw the Roger Dean cover while browsing the used CD section at my local record store.  I've not listened to it in quite awhile, but if I recall the first song was somewhat progressive and quite good; the rest of the album wasn't bad but I seem to remember it being more electronic and punkish.
Yeah, they were indie rock all the way, with a strong psychedelic tendency.  I first got "Voyager" after hearing them on college radio.  I did a serious double take when I saw their next album come out with the Roger Dean cover, but I bought it right away.  It took a while to grow on me, but it eventually did.  Actually, there's a left-field song right in the middle that's quite the prog song - "Hot for Krishna", which has a jazz-fusion lead violin part that sounds a lot like Caravan's "A Hunting We Shall Go".  But otherwise, there's not much of a connection with prog.  I sitll like it though.

Been a couple of weeks since I listened to this. Seemed the logical place to go after ZZ Top.
