To Tame a Land IMHO is a huge step in the evolution of progmetal. The rhythm is very discordant for a traditional metal band.

My vote goes to THe Man Who Would be King, the best song from THe Final Frontier IMO and one of the best (and proggy) songs ever made by Maiden.

So many great ones but Rime of the Ancient Mariner always gets my vote.Coming from the Bayley era I always thought Sign of the Cross was really good and pretty underrated.I saw them play it live with Dickinson a few years ago and they nailed it.

Iron maiden are truely an incredible band and to pick one song definitively as being the best, in my opinion is next to impossible, but I would be happy to list off a few of the best epics and they would be for me,
1) RHYME OF THE ACIENT MARINER 2) HALLOWED BE THY NAME 3) 7th SON of a 7th SON 4). DANCE OF DEATH 5) THE TALISMAN. |

Music never would say, ' I'm not in the mood for you to listen to me today' or ' I don't feel like it.' Nope. Music always has your back and is a friend for life. Consistency breeds loyalty.

The Legacy. I don't know what it is about that song, but everything seems to come together so well...

Hey - Up The Irons !!!!!!!!
I am of the minor minority who consider 'Sign Of The Cross' Maiden's best epic. I have most Maiden albums, I am aware that Bayley is no match for Dickinson, but Sign Of The Cross it is.
