I pick Rime of the Ancient Mariner. That song is so epic.

Seventh Son of a Seventh Son ; from the middle to the end of the song, this is pure prog metal majesty !
Also could have voted for Alexander the Great.

My two favorite albums by Maiden by the way (7th Son and Somewhere in Time).

Hallowed Be Thy Name.  I really think that song is an outlier from Iron Maiden; they really went beyond their ability with it.  They have lots of excellent classic metal songs, but that song is something special.

Phantom of the Opera of course.

If I had an option, I would vote for the Transylvania/Strange World combo from the same album.
I consider drone metal to be progressive...

If we're talking epics then it has to be Ancient Mariner.  Smile

Been giving WHERE THE WILD WIND BLOWS a few spins and that one definitely has a lot of good moments. Not the best, but certainly very good. :)

I like Powerslave just about as much but it's not nearly as epic as Mariner so Ryme gets my vote Wink

Other for me, The Isle of Avalon being my favorite, and the Nomad a close second.

Of those on this list, I'd have to go with Seventh Son of a Seventh Son. That's some fantastic Iron Maiden as well.

Wake alone in the hills With the wind in your face It feels good to be proud And be free and a race That is part of a clan
And to live on highlands And the air that you breathe So pure and so clean
When he rides, my fears subside.
For darkness turns once more to light.
Through the skies, his white horse flies.
To find a land beyond the night.
