While watching VH1's "Metal Evolution" show yesterday, they showed a series of album covers.  I knew all but one of them, though I know I had seen it before.  It is similar to King Crimson's "In the Court..." album cover, in the sense that someone's face was the majority of the image, but it was more like a gnome with buck teeth.  I've been looking all over for the past half hour to try and figure out what album that is and am running into brick walls.  Like I said, I know I have seen it in the past, but I was just going to check out a few samples of it today.  Any ideas?

Get a DVR box before it comes on again and then you can Rewind/Play that part 100x until you recognize the album cover........

Thank you!  I knew I had seen it somewhere before!  I've not actually listened to this band much, but have their Octopus album in my wish list on Amazon at the moment.  Not sure where I got the buck teeth description from, but oh well.  Thanks for the prompt reply(ies).

It was strange that they interviewed Derek Shulman and didn't mention that he was in one of the original prog rock bands.

Yes. Shame about the buck teeth comment or I would have posted this album first.

Well since we're now speaking of this album cover and Gentle Giant.  Would you all recommend Octopus as a good starting point, or some other album?

Octopus or any other album out of the first 8 are great and I recommend each one of them!

Personally, I think it's a great shame that Ken Dodd wasn't right.

Octopus is the perfect introduction. More accessible and diverse than most of the others yet it shows the band at their best. It's the one I started with and and now I'm a big fan.Big smile

  Yes, but I was right.Tongue

I had a bit of an advantage. I was watching this on DVR while surfing and saw the original post, weirdly this bit came up on the show just as I read the post. Bit hard to get it wrong really.Wink

Start with Octopus or In A Glass House in my opinion.
