I believe that the only media Haken has in the TUBES is their Myspace. Unexpect has a bandcamp:

Yea, I just wanted soundcloud because it's easy to embed. I don't want to use youtube because the flash player is so stinkin large and the sound quality is not always so good. I'll look into embedding bandcamp stuff..

It's deff possible, after all Phideaux has his bandcamp embedded in his website. I just don't know if you can do it in PA.

He used HTML, I assume, not BBCode.

IDK what he uses, but it's there, that's what I know. Tongue

Oy...not a brillant list by any mileage marker. But certainly one that favors the popular! (Or the free to listen too...)

It's rather ironic, as I found this to be a great year in prog (though not as good as last year), that I disagree with a good majority of this list. But, that's nothing new. At least Ske made it to 17, and that was easily the closest I had to top 10 within my list.

One remark, SW is in crossover? That seems odd.

this!
My Brother the Wind was released too late in the year to make much of a stir.
I didn't even have it in my list 4 weeks ago, but since then it stormed all the way to position 2.

summer of '69 right BEFORE Hot Rats AND Bitches Brew were recorded.

Fail first place. I like seeing Leprous and DT on the list though...

Good job.

The #1 spot was pretty predictable.

Is this the first time DT managed to be in the top..... 25?

My only problems with the Top 10 are Heritage and Rites at Dawn, neither of which I think are very good. Everything else, while not every one was one of my personal favorites, are all fine albums and deserving of their spots.

Although it's a damn shame that Testimony 2 didn't even crack the top 20 =(

Heritage was fantastic and less divisive than I expected. I sort of expected metal heads to backlash at St. Anger levels. Only 2 of my picks were top 10. And one in the top 10 that would have made my bottom 5. I will keep it to myself to avoid any unpleasantries.

Grace for Drowning is an excellent example of Eclectic prog: Symphonic, heavy prog, jazz, avant all in one package.

If memory serves, Octavarium made the first top 10 back in 2005. Unsurprisingly, Wilson won that year as well with PT's Deadwing. I believe Insurgents and The Incident are the only two major albums from him in the last 6 years that havn't won here (not counting Bass Communion, No-Mna and Blackfield since they dont garner anyware near s much interest as PT and solo do).

I was so happy when 2009 and 10 endend up as a straight fight between maudlin of the Well and Magma, and Kayo Dot and Universe Zero respectively. Now those made for good lists.

Something tells me Gamma Knife probably wont keep Drivers strike rate going though.

Nice list, I see most of my favorites appearing somewhere & I didn't expect to see my Avant leanings dominate somehow :)

One question, I assume this is meant to be Camembert?

Oops, yup, you're right. When I was writing in the artist names I meant to check that one buy must have forgotten. Thanks.

First of all, congratulations Andy on a wonderful jobClap Second of all, that list...Dead Yuck! The 2010 list was much better and not just because UZ got first place. Surprising to me since I thought 2011 was the best year in prog in a long time. At least one of my picks got on the list.
