Best italian one shot

I have gathered some of the best italian bands releasing only one album in the 70's.
Also included are bands who released a second album in the 90's or later.
I know there are more bands!!

I voted Maxophone

I haven't tried uit Maxophone yet, but I'm planning to.
Locanda Delle Fate made a great album IMHO

Yes I know   but still one shot wonders, no?  

I think my favrourite, at least of ones I know are listed in ProgArchives and spring to mind, is Elektriktus' Electronic Mind Waves.  From the list, it's hard to say.  I used to listen to a lot of Italian Prog (RPI), including most of those albums, but not for quite a few years. 

There are various non-one shot albums by Italian bands I still listen to frequently, such as ones by Area and Picchio dal Pozzo, and I listen to a lot of Italian soundtrack and library music by various composers.

Anyway, one that really did impress me and really helped get me into RPI in a big way in the first place was Museo Rosenbach's Zarathustra which I would have pegged to win this, and will get my vote.

Cervello for me. 

Uhhuuuhuhh - damn what a pickle!

Between Cervello, Semiramis, Buon Vecchio Charlie, Campo di Marte, Museo Rosenbach and Rocky's Filj - I think I'm going with Cervello. Fantastic album - and it proves that you certainly don't need keys to make a progressive outing work. It gives off some of the same vibes that one can find in the Danish bands Burnin Red Ivanhoe and Secret Oyster - much credited to Karsten Vogel's unique wind instruments.

There is some fantastic music up there on this list, and if anyone comes across this poll thinking: Man, I only know that Maxophone one, but it's pretty darn saucy! Then do yourself a favour and get some of the other albums featured here. The section is pretty wide spanning from symphonics to heavy prog whilst still being rooted in the RPI tradition. Not a bummer in sight.

If you already know this stuff - and love it to bits, then by all means: jump on board the Franco Battiato train! We're all quite insane on this chu chu ride, but it sure is some astonishing music...

Cervello vs. Semiramis for me.

J.E.T. - they had a good sense of melody. No wonder later they became big stars as Matia Bazar (with a little help of Antonella Ruggiero and Museo Rosenbach drummer).
