Topic: Discipline or Indiscipline? Posted: March 07 2012 at 16:53
I've been listening to this album a lot lately and it's quickly becoming one of my favourite King Crimson albums. Some really great stuff on here like The Sheltering Sky, Frame By Frame and Elephant Talk. It's up there with In The Court, Larks' Tongues and Red, in my opinion. My vote goes to Indiscipline because of Bruford's frantic drumming and Adrian's soaring guitar.

Both great. Indiscipline greater.

No matter how much I tear down Indiscipline, or how much I break it down, it remains consistent.

Was actually discussing this a few days ago ... "Indiscipline" all the way for me. Its counterpart is too repetitive, and too orderly for my tastes. Both great songs, but I prefer "Indiscipline" by a mile.

Discipline is actually a very good track with its intricate minimalistic patterns. Indiscipline is all about Bruford's drumming skills but - to put it in an explicit way - the junkish bullsh*t talk is too irritating for my sensitive ears.

You don't need to choose, just fire up a couple of media players on your computer and play them at the same time. Just be sure to stress yourself out and repeat.

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

I actually find it kind of funny in some parts like at the "I repeat myself when under stress" section. The odd timed bass behind the vocals just make it so abstract and captivating, it's great. I like it!
