Not a chance, I don't really like them(the'yre aiiright). I could a handful better:Riverside, Opeth, Tool, Mastodon, Symphony X. I mean they're not even close, for me at least. I hate that Petrucci gets so self -indulgent. I do like Awake a lot though

Say what you want about the chops and pretentiousness of the players, DT write melodies like no other prog-metal band can (Haken has been coming seriously close though). Riverside is good too, with their more spacey sound, and Tool are good, but take too damn long between albums that I just don't care about them anymore. Symphony X was good for a couple of albums, but they're just a thrash metal band now. Mastodon are good, but they've said some pretty rude things about DT in interviews (a lot of it having nothing to do with the music itself) to the point that I have no respect for them as people or musicians.
