You're right Stool not too many good Genesis compilations. THey need a good one that covers their whole career. I like the first Achive set closely followed by the Second Archive set.
A GREAT YEAR FOR PROG!!!

The first Archive is stunning - an almost complete live version of Lamb, some rare B-sides and some little known demos from pre "to Revelations" days - who needs a Greatest Hits album you already own most (if not all) the tracks of?

Although I don't own it, from what i see of the tracklisting the 3 disc Platinum Collection offers a reasonably good overview of all phases of Genesis.

I picked up a cheap one called Rock Theatre a while back. The track listing is
I know what I like
Harold The Barrel
Harlequin
Watcher Of The Skies(single version which I like)
Fountain Of Salmacis
Suppers Ready

Not bad for a short compilation that probably originated on vinyl. If The Knife had been included then it would be very decent.
The archive set 76-92 is the one I tend to dig out mainly for live versions of The Brazilian and Deep In The Motherlode so I vote for that.

Um . . .

not to mention the second box and third box sets kick ass as well though I realize that the third set irritates a good percentage on here.
