Alva Noto (Carsten Nicolai) basically makes sound collages often based on high pitched frequencies and white noise, but also makes music that is calming and lightly beat-oriented. He's proved himself to be quite versatile in the usage of microtones. Similar artist on PA already are Aube and Harold Budd, and Alva Noto has an ongoing progressive ambient collaboration series with Yellow Magic Orchestra's (also on PA) Ryuichi Sakamoto that has recently also included the talents of Ensemble Modern. The progressiveness of his music is debatable, but I thought I should give him a shot.

Yeah, as I made this thread I kind of realized he probably wouldn't be added. I should've gone with the Bernard Parmegiani thread instead.

Hey Alan.

I actually know this one, and whilst I enjoy the music, I find it hard to see included here on PA under the PE moniker. I'll refer with Philippe thoughSmile

Yeah, that's kind of what I expected. I guess it's his own diversity and similarity to other artists on this site that compelled me to make this thread. I'm nearly 90% Phil is going to say no Tongue
