I guess these guys would fall under fusion or jazz rock. They have been around a while. YOu can hear their music on aural moon. A bunch of stuff by them is on youtube also. Here's a good intro.

Already suggested in this forum by flaco in October 2009: http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=62325. Unclear from Keishiro's reply whether he was saying that they already had been assigned to JR/F or that he was merely asking the question. Anyhow, it either went nowhere at all, or they were rejected.
However, since that post there has been another album released, so they would qualify for another evaluation (assuming that one has taken place at all of course, which at the moment is unclear...) If this is to be a repeat evaluation following a previous rejection then it would require a unanimous 'yes' vote for them to be cleared and added...but let's see what they're all about anyway, eh? Bio from Reverbnation: http://www.reverbnation.com/rareblend "For over 15 years, Rare Blend’s music resonates with purists as well as those who embrace a progressive multi-genre approach to original instrumental music. Pulling from a variety of influences and musical styles, Rare Blend continues to receive favorable press reviews, and radio airplay, performing at a variety of concerts and outdoor festivals, and have been invited to be included on regional and national compilation discs. Because of their diversity and growing catalog of music, Rare Blend can be found performing on bills that range from Jazz to jam band, fusion to progressive rock. They have shared bills or have opened for the likes of David Sanborn, Special EFX, Ozric Tentacles, Tunnels, Dark Star Orchestra, Kevin Eubanks, Blood, Sweat & Tears, Spyro Gyra, Frogg Cafe, Los Lobos, and others... In 1998, Rare Blend expanded to a four piece with bassist/composer Jeff Scott and drummer Paul Stranahan. As a quartet, Rare Blend added additional musical texture to the original concept and took the live performance to a new level. And besides the 5 samples available from the profile page, ALL their albums are on myspace in their entirety. Or to give the individual album links: Buy their stuff at cdbaby: http://www.cdbaby.com/artist/rareblend Hardly needs any tubes adding really, but there is a selection here: http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=rareblend This is the one from the o.p. And here's a few more: And there we are. If this band is going anywhere on PA it'll have to be in JR/F - & it certainly seems worth a shot to me. Top marks to them for providing such a wealth of samples. Edit: flaco has made seven other posts concerning this band over the last few years, mainly in the 'Get The Word Out' forum. All have been furnished with plenty of info about the band, but only two received replies, and very brief replies at that.

Wow, there are artists on here who are barely prog at all(ie Tori Amos and probably some jam bands)and yet there is this big long process and discussion and then you guys have to vote etc etc. I don't get it but I hope they get in.
