I've decided to vote after looking into music by all of these without hearing whole albums (but having heard music off all of them), and Second Smile takes it for me as the album I would most like to get of these.  I'm sure that I will get the Davis at some time, too, but since I already have a fairly extensive Miles Davis collection....

I gave Caravan some love. I really like that one - especially the elongated For Richard.

I need to check out Brainstorm - the only reason I remember them is because of their preposterous covers. I'm thinking they learned a bit from MessageLOL Bridal colours for men getting your woman's juices flowing... Seriously though - what would you recommend I started with John? I mean in regards to Brainstorm. I have too many unused white dresses, so don't even start with me.

Could have gone with Miles, but it is just so damn obvious voting for his live albums. Out of this world marmalade fusion with a couple of habanero chillies thrown in for good measure. Hot and sticky.

About Brand X. I am one of those who prefer their debut, but that isn't to say that I don't start snapping my fingers and break out the ol' rumba routine, whenever Disco Suicide gets airplay at my home.

I think you'll really dig that one Greg if you take the plunge. That Live Evil is pretty insane though but i know you need to draw the line somewhere with certain bands. Like i should have with all the live Soft Machine records i have.

The one mentioned here "Second Smile" is easily my favourite although if you like to look at hairy guys dressed in women's under-garments go for the first oneLOL Heck there even a bunch of more pictures in the liner notes. Yes i've studied them carefully.Shoot me nowDead.

^LOL
Ok thanks man. I think I'll go for Second Smile then.
And there is no shame in watching men wearing dresses. I wore one last week at work to the great embarrassment of the kids there. "You can't pull off yellow!!!"

Thanks.  I will take the plunge with both of those.  I've already fallen for Davis for miles and miles and expect to fall for Brainstorm for smiles (the s at the end of smile there is for the second one).

Wow this was a tough choice, but I went with Brand X. Such a great album, and exquisite during a late-night session.
My Last.fm
Jazz-rock conspiracy? Zappa and Miles played at the same festivals in the
summer of '69 right BEFORE Hot Rats AND Bitches Brew were recorded.
