Hi kids!

EPISODE 5: Black Engine's
Ku Klux Klowns

Special thanks to Alex (Sheavy) for this find.

Italian band Black Engine is a side-project of Zu - whom I will certainly be featuring here at some point soon.  They basically (for anyone familiar with the latter) just sound like a noisier, dirtier, wilder version of Zu's latest album Carboniferous.  The bass is ridiculously low and distorted, almost closer to a feeling than a sound.  It's fairly prominently electronically manipulated, and I must say it is completely awesome.  Full of energy, with a strong jamming feel to it.  I hope you like; I was certainly impressed.

Definitely not disgusting enough for you, but this one has your name written on it.  I picked it up for $5 from CD Baby.  The artist is Ed Haponik and the album is titled Triceratops.  No guitars were allowed in the studio for the recording, because "his is a bass player and he plays bass".  Or something like that.  I suspect that your favorite part about this album would be the title but if you can find it somewhere you might want to check it out.

Isn't he that guy that is completely awesome with yoyos? There are some basses standing in the background in some of his vids.

It is this one.

As I said I really don't think that it fits this thread too much, I really just associated the title and the fact that he only plays bass (also keyboards and ukelele) on the album.  If you check out the samples the best track is probably the last one, which is an instrumental.  He also does a cover of a Leonard Cohen song "Famous Blue Raincoat".  I'm not familiar with Leonard Cohen, but I know that there are some fans of him on the site.
