One of my lesser favorite PF albums, though I still like it (which should say something)

The title track, Careful With That Axe Eugene and Set The Controls For The Heart of The Sun, for me, are a little boring when compared to most live versions I've heard.
Jugband Blues is definitely my favorite track. I do like the whole album though.

One of the very best albums, a work of genius - every track (with the possible exception of See Saw) is a classic.
I voted for the title track - the first prog rock epic.

The first two tracks, surely. I voted for Let There Be More Light.
Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun and, to a lesser extent, A Saucerful of Secrets are just draft versions compared to the magnificent live versions (of which the version of Set the Controls from Live at Pompeii stands out).

All the songs are great, but the most great of all is the title track. Best heard on Ummagumma, or bootlegs.

Set The Controls and ASFOS were both amazing live. But fall short on the album.
Remember A Day is a perfect track on the album

the thread title says best song off the album, not best song on the album just going by the actual abum version, I've always liked Corporal Clegg, and once covered it with a crazy band. |

Corporal Clegg is a very cool wacky tune. This album was actually very good. Still going for Remember A Day

It's a very difficult choice between the first 3 songs... love 'em all. I also love the title track, but only the live versions, specially the one on Ummagumma. As a matter of fact, I also like "Set the Controls" much better on the Live at Pompeii version, and after that, listening the the studio version leaves me rather underwhelmed. I'll be going with "Remember a day".

As a matter of fact I also liked See Saw quiet a bit, though not as much as the others. Still, I'm a bit surprised it's got absolutley no vote. Now, Jugband Blues is song I find very interesting because of it's lyrics and it's meaning... but the performance is not my favourite on the album. I wish there were some awsome live version of this song that I may enjoy better.

There are quite a few out-freaking-standing tracks, like 'See-Saw', 'Remember a Day', and the title track; it's hard to pick one. The former two are equally top-notch from start to finish, but it's the finale of the latter that got me into playing the keys. Oh, well, let it be the TITLE TRACK.
It's pretty sad that 'See-Saw' doesn't get much love. Oh, well. 'Set the Controls' is ambient music that is too dead for me.
