A front, a back, an edge -- btw, I have quite a few without round edges, so lots of sides. Plus one could say an outside and an inside (I especially like the inside of chocolate coins ;)), a left side, and a right side depending on perspective.... |

America Is Waiting. I own only few of these albums and don't miss the rest of them.

I only own a few of the albums these are off myself, the three Zeuhl albums and the Schnitzler, but would like the Can and Frith, and the Eno/Byrne (though not a priority since I am more into off PA music these days). I went with Eskaton's Ecoute.

Hackett's Air Conditioned Nightmare, my favorite track (and a good one by any measure) from an album I don't like much overall. After that, Abacab and then America is Waiting (for a message of some sort or another).

1981 was obviously a crappy year for prog. Anytime 'Abacab' is in the running tells me to avoid the poll altogether. |

This poll is likely not represenative of the greatest in prog for 1981. It's just a sample, or something..
But it's fun! Edited by wilmon91 - April 14 2012 at 17:17 |

Definitely not true, it's was a great year for prog, who changed a little bit and came out of the 70's prog style. I don't have to list all the great bands releasing albums that year, you already have that list here. I agree it's not the same amount of groundbreaking music came out in 1973 for example, but there are bands that released their most beloved album ever in 1981, so to say it is crap is simply unreal. |
