I do like the song and I think it's pretty fascinating to see what direction the band may have drifted in had they kept together.

As its status as a bonus song, I don't worry to much about being tacked on the end there - though it's obviously not a fit with the rest of the material on YS

I never heard the bonus track and this is one of my favorite albums. And I can't watch videos on these computers. :-(

YS is a great album, and I love bonuses generally (sometimes it's my favourite stuff on an album, but not in this case). A bonus is a bonus. I think it's a good bonus, and like it.

Bonuses never disrupt an album for me unless they're not at the end of the album.

You might be able to hear it here?

Not sure as I couldn't be bothered making an account though

Amazing album huh? Not a bad pop song, really, this one. And I agree, so long as it's at the end I'm fine, it's on those odd occasions when whoever does the sequencing weaves them into the album proper

I really liked that tune, but then again I didn't expect anything in the vein of YS...

YS on the other hand is one of my absolute favourite Italian albums - up there with Franco Battiato's Pollution and Lucio Battisti's Anima Latina.

Some rare versions of Ys have the B-side of that single as well, Donna Vittoria. Also a nice little song. Live versions of both songs are included on the recently released On the Road to Ys (CD version).

By the way, on the live version I mentioned above, Gianni Leone gives a little introduction to La Tua Casa Comoda. He says, "Everybody asks me about this song. I actually don't like it that much."  LOL

Me too!! LOL  Just kidding.

Donna Vittoria and La Tua Casa Comoda are not as good as the rest of the album but they are a great addition!

I LOVE this piece...
I look up, I'm almost blinded

by the warmth of what's inside me

and the taste that's in my soul,

but I'm dead inside as I stand alone...

Not a big fan of bonus tracks.  I'm a purist, I just want the album as the band intended it at the time it came out.
I don't mind that bonus tracks are there, but I don't listen to them.  I almost always stop a disc when the original album concludes thus cutting off the extras.

One bonus track that actually made the album better for me was the anniversary reissue of the 2nd Jacula.  Great song that enhanced the album.  But those moments are very rare for this listener.

Sometimes due to the limitations of the LP format, and at the behest of producers, music was left off that bands or band  member's would have liked on the albums, of course.

One of my faves for "bonus tracks" is Jean-Paul Prat's Masal.

^ True, I should have just said I prefer them as originally released and left it at that.

I rather suspect that if you'd originally heard various original releases with the extra material (assuming it was  recorded and produced as well as the rest of the album), you would have preferred that to a later release that omitted it.  Of course a lot of bonus material is at the demo stage, underdeveloped, recorded and produced badly, but I've heard some stuff that amazes me that it never got released until much later in CD form. And often it doesn't fit in well with the rest.

Maybe, maybe not.  Depends how good it was and if the choice to edit it was sound.  Also, I like short albums.

I would be between choices 1 & 2. I really like the song, very nice pop tune. However, I'm not sure I would go to say "Awsome stuff", but neither something as indifferent as "Not great, but not terrible". So, I don't really know how to vote here... well, yes, I'll vote "Some other feeling... though that is too ambiguous.

I like it a lot.  I hadn't heard it in eons, so I had to give another listen just to remember what it sounds like.  It's a zinger.

Surely.  I can think of some original release albums that I might have liked a little more had they left certain tracks on the cutting-room floor and a lot of albums, I think, would be improved by some pruning/truncation (get rid of noodly and w**ky bits etc.). It's not uncommon for me to skip tracks on albums, or sometimes fast forward past bits that can bore me (that's sacrilegious to some) and play some tracks on repeat, so added tracks don't bother me.  What I have often hated are re-workings of material by the artist-- Kitaro comes to mind.

I'm glad the bonus stuff was released, because tracking down singles is a pain. And I like to have all the output! But I do listen to an album intact without considering the bonus material. In fact, when I'm ripping my CDs, I often will give the bonus material a different label to separate it from the album proper.

Ah, I gotta get that one one day then, and the 'On the Road...'  one too I guess, a more recent lineup without guitar from memory?
