Actually i think the lineup from the previous poll was better. Anyway some more Jazz flavoured music as we work our way to the best from band's beginning with the letters E-K.  You don't need to be familiar with them all, just vote for the one you think deserves a mention.

I'm not really  familiar enough with most albums here to fairly vote, but I like that Volker Kriegel album very much and am voting for it anyway.

I don't know any of these albums, so i can't vote, but Volker Kriegel is in my good books, as he was a guest musician on a live Passport album from the 1970s called the Doldinger Jubilee Concert, which is a great record!

Where are ELO????

Ahem...
I don't know half of these John! Isn't Missing Link also the name of some other German jazz rock obscurity? Anyway, I'm not voting before I've checked some more of these acts.
And Kenso? Isn't that an expensive deodorant?

I didn't know that . I know he was highly regarded in Germany for his guitar playing and always has some amazing musicians working with him.

Yep, fan of Kvartettan, Kriegel and Kraan, but the others here, I don't know.. I'll come back.

That Volker Kriegel recording was a double album, and John Marshall(Soft Machine, Nucleus) played drums on the second album.
KBB and Kenso are two very good Japanese bands, while Karcius is from Quebec and kicks ass.
The album from Kraan(Germany) is a later one and more Jazz than Krautrock. The other band is the most "off the wall" and from Sweden and remind me of Flasket Brinner the way them jam at times.

That is my pick too. Funny how on paper as i looked at these i thought i'd pick Karcius because it rocks out pretty good at times, but once i heard "Through" it was an easy pick for me. Kenso surprised me at how heavy it can be, and is my runner up this time.

Phhheeeeeww!!! Stinky!

Man I really don't need more of that stuff - I'm already up to my neck in Krautrock and psych. Who really needs more music anyways?
Just kidding - I am currently on a roll - and haven't bought a bummer in quite a while. (Except for a Malicorne release that really bugged the hell out of me)So yeah - feel free to feed me good musicBig smile

I just had to give some more praise to Kraan for their later albums. Sure they sound different from their earlier seventies records but these guys haven't lost a thing. That "Through" album's cover art was inspired by the very first Kraan poster back in 1972. Very psychedelic. And on the back cover is a picteure of the four guys leaving the Wintrup farm. The same farm where it all began for them in the early seventies where they all lived together with their families and where practised all throughout the day. So it's a cool picture of them over thirty years later visiting the old farm. Lots of memories i'm sure.
I don't have their latest "Diamonds" but "Through" and "Psychedelic Man" are so impressive.

I don't know Volker Kriegel (I'll have to remedy that!), but of the other artists my favorite is Kenso--though it's largely based on their first three. I don't know the album you mentioned.

Ahhh some new music you should get ToddWink.  Hey there's a Sugar Cane Harris(Zappa) album that i have that's really good that has Volker Kreigel on it along with Robert Wyatt, Wolfgang Dauner(ET CETERA) and Terje Rypdal. It's a live one and listed on this site under Volker Kreigel's recordings.
