So I settle down for the night and outside our house I hear "Everybody's shuffling" by LMAO (Lame music awfully obnoxious). I can take that I guess but now its "I gotta mooooooooooooooooove like Jagger". I cant take it

This means war!

Please recommend me an awesome prog song to blast them out and drown their awful dance pop.
If you don't its 21st century Schizoid man and then the entire Space Ritual album LOL

I know a great tune for situations like this. It's called: "Knocking on the neighours' door and asking them politely to turn the volume down".

Of course, sometimes, it won't be enough and you'll have to play the tune called: "Please, turn the volume down or I call the police".
Excuse me, sir, do you have a moment to talk about our lord and savior, Neptune, god of the Sea?

Ha!! I like to think that you playing first-rate prog at a loud volume totally blew their minds, and they're all lying unconscious on the floor!

Mission accomplished!

Hi,

I've sent off people in parties with Nektar once (Tab in the Ocean, too!)  ... and another party with Amon Duul 2 (Yeti) ...

But the end all screamer ... should always be Janis Joplin in Cheap Thrills ... Ball and Chain ... and you have to play that loud ... and it would be a really good lesson for progressive fans too, to learn where loud guitar came from!

After that? ... probably Lou Reed's Metal Machine Music! That ought to do the trick real good! You put it on loud and make sure you go to the store and get chips and beer, or equivalent ... or it will send you to the zoo, too!
The master holy man said from his trinity in the chapala ... none of the hits, none of the time ... is always better sex and music!

I don't know about prog, but Merzbow's Pulse Demon is fairly suited for this purpose.

I would put on something just gawdawful as well.

check out the band "Complete"
Then try "Death of Self" from columbus, Ohio
Then try "Darby Refuge" from West Jeff, Ohio (everything the singer for this band does is terrible)

Ha ha... I just listened to that yesterday and I never get over how noisy that guitar is at the beginning.  Those guys were hardcore.

Opeth — Blackwater Park
Mastodon — Leviathan

Play it loud! You won't be disappointed with a result!
This night wounds time.

MADE IN JAPAN by Deep Purple

Ascension by John Coltrane

Zappa in New York/Roxy & Elsewhere by Zappa

Starless & Bible Black by King Crimson (those improvs are just f**king insane at a high volume)

Some James Brown at high volume can beat the hell out the new dance crap. You can even dance to it, show 'em what it's like to properly dance to something properly danceable.

Now what you need is some good speakers, if you don't have already.
