More to pick from here as we march on to the heavyweights next week. Some excellent albums here regardless.

Wow, tough one! One does not simply put Fulano and Iceberg in the same poll Tongue

Anyway, I'm going with Fulano, few to none are aware of their existance.

I only have the Jan Garbarak Quartet album, which I adore, and the Frogg Cafe album.  I have some exploring to do, but methinks it's going to be tough to find one I like more than Afric Pepperbird.

EDIT: Oops, I also have heard However Sudden Dusk.

And after listening to music off youtube for the ones I don't know, I did go with the terrific Afric Pepperbird. That one is a heavyweight in my books.

Can that lady sing or what, and that's one of my favourites from them too. Nice choice !

I really dig that Kraan album, and voted for it no less, but must admit not really knowing as many as I would like to. That Afric Pepperbird for once is definitely going on my listBig smile

Yeah that fourth track has some distorted organ in it bringing a strong Canterbury flavour kind of out of the blue.
Helmet Of Gnats and Volker Kriegel standout for me. The latter is not so surprising as it's my favourite album from him, but i didn't expect to be so into Helmet Of Gnats. I forgot how good it was i guess.

I have one album by Fermata  (which I love)    but not that one
never heard any of the other artists
so much music to explore
so little time!

It does boggle the mind how much amazing music that there is out there. Of Fermata's first four albums this is the fourth and probably least appreciated of those four. It was released in 1980. I really like it but if you have one of their first three your probably really happy with what you've got.

Thanks for going to all the trouble. That Garbarek record has to be the most challenging of the bunch, and many consider it a classic.

Decided to give Volker Kriegel my vote. As i said earlier it's my favourite from him and John Marshall(Soft Machine,Nucleus) plays drums on it. Helmet Of Gnats was my runner-up. They really reminded me of Dean Watson.
