I'm talking about countries where polygamy IS allowed.
Excuse me, sir, do you have a moment to talk about our lord and savior, Neptune, god of the Sea?

I am talking about any country. That wouldn't be a good reason behind not allowing it.

I'll let you study how little I care for the excuse inheritance being complicated as a legitimate reason for outlawing any activity let alone one which reflects strong emotional bonds between people.

It can't be much more complicated than a family having a bunch of children. I can't be more complicated than the US's tax code. So it can be done and with more ease than other accepted practices.

Since when marriage should involve "strong emotional bonds between people"?
Marriage is a contract.

Legally yes, but culturally or religiously that's simply absurd. It's also a relatively unimportant point of what I said, yet the only thing your responded to.

I'm not really interested into the USA's tax code.

So, why bother? Let's have champagne and hot consensual homosexual intercourse.

Most of the western world seems to operate serial polygamy anyway so what's the issue with parallel polygamy? As long as it's completely consensual and not compulsory I don't see what's to whine about. Personnally I'm not one for sharing so it's unlikely that I'd be interested - then I'm still taken aback that one person is interested in me, so finding another would be quite an achievement.

Dealing with inheritance is something that happens all the time within divorce settlements so adding extra offspring and parents into the equation shouldn't be that complicated (as long as you keep lawyer's sticky-fingers out of the pot Wink) - it's just another form of financial contract and the biological lineage would probably take precedence over any social relationships in the general hierarchy.

I'll have to run that idea by my wives.
