I just read about Dream Theater going on tour again on USA, from june 15 to july 21. But then, the thing that really got my attention is that they are touring with special guests... Crimson Projekt, which includes Adrian Belew, Tony Levin, Pat Mastelotto, plus Markus Reuter, Julie Slick, and Tobias Ralph. Now, I don't know about you, but for me this Crimson Projekt should be the leading act.

Never listened to Crimson ProjeKt. Is Fripp in the band?

No. I already listed the ones on the band, 3 are former Crimson members, the other three I don't know who they are.

Julie Slick played bass in Adrian Belew Power Trio together with her brother Eric Slick (drums).

Tobias Ralph is Eric's replacement in the band.

Well if they did come to Canada, to be quite honest, I'd be more looking forward to Crimson Projekt than Dream Theater. Just the fact that half of the 80's line-up is there and Pat Mastelotto is on drums, is absolutely wonderful.

Much though I love Dream Theater, I also would attend because of the Crimson credentials over DT themselves. However, they already came to Mexico (on december) and somehow I don't think they will come again until their next tour/album. However, it would be great if they did come again. Now, I wish I knew what Crimson Projekt will be playing... hopefully some Crimson songs and not just a bunch of improvisations.

I saw this double trio last fall, as the encore of the joint Stickmen/AB Power Trio tour

absolutely fantastic..w/out Bobby it's not crimson, but its Big and Red for sure

Markus, Tobias and Julie are all amazing players, and i need not even mention the credentials of the others

i would see it in a heartbeat, save that i have no interest in paying huge bucks for Dream Theater, im sure its better money for the players, but i'd rather they toured small clubs again

Yup, I saw they last year and they were incredible. I've got tickets for this for Cincinnati, not too bad, $50 a pop.

The only issue for me is that its the day after Nearfest so I may fall asleep halfway through DT.

Just read something posted on FB by Dream Theater about them touring South America too, but there weren't any dates yet, and it seems it will be with Joe Satriani instead of Crimson Projekt... so I guess that if they get a date for Mexico, they would include it in the South American leg, and without Crimson

It's actually just John Petrucci, along with Joe Satriani and Steve Morse that will be touring South America.

It's a G3 tour, including the 3 guitarists above. So no DT and Crimson Projekct, sorry.

Oh well, anyway, I wonder if that may be interesting too. Besides, still I don't completley loose hope DT may include Mexico as part of their North American tour... though it seems unlikely now.

I wish I could run the G3 Tour, so I could replace Petrucci with Greg Massi and Satriani with Dave Bainbridge (won't comment on Morse, as I've never heard him).

But seriously, can't they pick someone different on occasion?
