VOTE YOUR LEAST FAVORITE TRACK!
(POLL CLOSED) Rules are simple. Vote for your LEAST favorite track from this album. The song with the most votes will be eliminated. Since there are only 4 songs on this album, the very last song will go to the semi-finals, with the loser of the next round going to the consolation round. 1. The Revealing Science Of God 2. Ritual 3. The Remembering 4. The Ancient Poll closes around 2pm Friday April 20. Edited by darkshade - April 20 2012 at 11:16 |

I find this difficult. Need to think longer. I mean Revealing Science is a fantastic symphonic piece but Ritual is so radical.

Funny, my rating of this album goes in the exact opposite order. I just can't overlook the classical guitar section of The Ancient.

Ritual. But the right 2 songs made the finals IMO.

Ritual is the only song I can listen to on TFTO without falling asleep/ wanting to punch Jon Anderson, so you know where my vote goes.

These are the only tracks I really care for off the album, but Revealing Science beats Ritual any day. Ritual is however a fantastic live track.

Ritual is brilliant. Like every other songs on the album, it lacks structure (that percussion part it particular is gratuitous), but it's easily the most straightforward one of the bunch and it also has the best melodies. Revealing has good parts (mainly the "I must have waited all my life for this moment" chorus and the "skyline teacher" interlude), but is overall quite a sleeping pill. Still decent though.

I think Ritual is great but flawed---Anderson gets on my nerves at the point where he starts to ramble and sing too much which he has been known to do---"as clearer companions shall...." at that point he starts to ramble. The Moraz live version is better than the studio----but I can't deny that god howe's opening and closing guitar work has brought a tear to my eye. But I voted Revealing as the opening chanting is amazing and it has lot's of great melodies and doesn't ramble plus it has one of RIck's best keyboard solo's and for me is the most cohesive side of Tales.

Hey, didn't you vote the wrong one? For what you wrote I understood you preferred Revealing Science of God, and thus voted for it. But we are voting for our least favourites. However, I much prefer Science of God myself (the only song I really like as a whole on this album), so I vote Ritual.

This is the easiest final of a survival poll to date: Ritual. In the previous round I voted for The Remembering by accident (but the result would not have been different if I did not).
The Revealing Science of God has that wonderful vocal intro and some beautiful moments, as myriad diamonds in a huge block of concrete. Ritual is the role model of a one star prog epic. Edited by someone_else - April 19 2012 at 02:50 |

RSOG....... I never understood the hype. To me, while good at the beginning, it feels like it has too many sections and lacks structure. Ritual flows more predictably but every minute is wildly entertaining. |

I also feel "Revealing Science of God" has too many sections and changes among them / repeats them a bit too often. Still, despite this, it's my favourite song on the album, and among my favourite Yes Epics. It's got some of the most beautiful and magical moments from the Yes discography.
