I like both, but definitely Decibel.   Decibel is my favourite in the competition so far.

Once again, not sure. Decibel sound more interesting, but I would need to hear more from them to make sure. The other group is more "normal", but I don't like that they sing in english, given that they are from Latin America.

Having investigated those two bands, i can say that Decibel are more progy, but i can't say that i really like them, it's good but nothing more for me, i feel not voting is appropriate. Decibel are the one to win though.

Tough. I didn't really like Decibel's first sample, but the second one nailed it. I liked Laghonia too, the vintage psych sound still sounds so fresh.

Not much between them for me, after listening to the samples only. I'm going with Laghonia, I think. Yes, Laghonia it is.

Laghonia sung in English, because the vocalist Dave Levane was from USA and because it was a sign of rebellion against the communist Military  Dictator Juan Velazco Alvarado who banned Rock as a negative Yankee influence..

In those days Santana was deported from the airport as a bad influence, so people got angry and started to protest with songs in English to hurt Velazco who also banned English classes from public schools..

For me Laghonia is one of the best Proto Prog bands ever, it's simply fantastic, they were the first band to use a Hammond B2 in all Latin America

You have chosen some of the simplest samples

Try this one, pure Hammond

It's funny that you mention that. It's obvious that I have no knowledge of most of the bands participating on the tournament. So when that happens, I usually tend to read some of the reviews too see which are the stand out tracks to post, and in that way, be fair with both bands competing.

When deciding which Laghonia tracks to post, I happened to be reading your reviews. Here's what you wrote about those tracks:

"Lonely People" starts with a dramatic organ sound that suddenly vanishes to leave the lead to one of the most absolutely beautiful guitar sections that take us back to the late 60's (Electric guitar played in an acoustic style). Even though it's clearly a Psychedelic track, there's something that reminds me of early Beatles despite there's no musical relation, but after listening over and over I believe that Carlos Guerrero takes the lead vocals at some moments (for the first time) and this guy has a very similar vocal range to John Lennon, so possibly that's the reason.
But the song continues developing with extremely powerful organ sections, heavy distorted wah-wah guitars, radical changes and complex arrangements until the powerful ending that according to some stories made the people who had smoked funny stuff to almost introduce their heads in the loudspeakers, a 100% Progressive track.

"Glue" as I said before was written by Saul Cornejo who was inspired by a drug he read about in Time Magazine and released as a single in 1968 - 1969 before taking the name for their first album
Wonderful song, 100% druggy Psychedelia, distorted guitar, dreamy organ and hallucinating lyrics, describes the genre was as a book, excellent that sounds like if Hendrix meets early Pink Floyd.

Anyway, it's great that you took the time to post more tracks to show more of the band's skills. I wish more people would do that. It would make the competition richer.

Thanks, it was good having another video to check Laghonia. Indeed they are interesting. Wish there would be some other video for Decibel too. Already voted for Laghonia, but I wonder if hearing more Decibel couldn't make me change my mind.

Indeed, I wish more people who happen to know this bands would help with more suggestions. But it seems this new thread has a bit more of interest and replies than the earlier ones.

As you see, both are pure Psyche tracks, I love Psyche, so with me it's OK LOL., but here in PA most people will go with the most elaborate stuff.

Someday on the other hand is more developed and closer to Prog IMHO.

Anyway, it's great to see Laghonia mentioned, they are very obscure, even in Perú.

Normally the Peruvian bands mentioned are Traffic Sound, Frágil, Flor de Loto and a couple more.

Cheers

Iván
