Other favorites for me, other than Magma:
Can - No, never, not even close. Genesis - Invisible Touch tour (in a football stadium - I needn't have bothered. I like that album but stadium shows suck) Yes - No Porcupine Tree - Yes, in 1999 at the same Prog Fest where I saw Magma. I wasn't really a big PT fan yet, though I had "Sky" and "Signify". Thinking Plague - Yes, at Prog Day in... '98 I think? Also got to meet the band. Moody Blues - twice in the 90s Earth and Fire - Uh, no. But what I wouldn't give..... Hawkwind - yes and no... I saw "Nik Turner's Hawkwind", one of the various touring versions of the group, but not the "real" one. the Residents - "Demons Dance Alone" tour. Very cool. Rush - just once, on the "Roll the Bones" tour. I'm planning to see them on this tour too. Secret Oyster - No ![]() Edited by HolyMoly - April 26 2012 at 16:17 |

I couldn't even tell you who my favourite prog band is, but I've seen many bands that I love dearly live, Russian Circles, Red Sparowes and Alcest being particular highlights

Rush!! I caught them in Toronto on the 2010 Time Machine tour and I will be seeing them again in 6 months at Toronto's Air Canada Center.
I'll also probably be seeing Sigur Ros and Dream Theater this summer as well. ![]() Edited by Fox On The Rocks - April 26 2012 at 17:27 |

Many dreams came true:
Pink Floyd (1989 tour), Roger Waters (2 times), Jethro Tull (several times), Omega, Kormoran, Manzarek - Krieger, Yes, Rick Wakeman, Uriah Heep, Arsenal, Keith Emerson (featuring Marc Bonilla), Santana, Asia (don't laugh please, it was a great gig in 1990), Pesnyary (unfortunately only their 30th anniversary concert, it was impossible to get tickets in the 70s), Avtograf, Dialog.

Easily the 2 best shows I've been two. Both very cinematic, and RC is super impressive to see the guitarist playing 3 or 4 parts at the same time |

I'd always thought it would be cool to see a heavy post-rock band. Especially ones i love like the two you've mentioned. Jaga Jazzist and Don Cab would be awesome to see too.

Being pretty new to the whole "prog scene", I haven't seen too many.
Tool, Boise, ID in 2007. Mostly 10,000 Days material with some of the classics thrown in. Sadly, no Third Eye. Porcupine Tree, Los Angeles, CA in 2009 for The Incident tour. Great, great show. Rush (twice), Irvine, CA in 2010 during the Time Machine Tour and again with a friend new to Rush in San Diego last June. Also, does a Pink Floyd tribute band count? If so, I saw a fantastic, note for note, performance of Animals in it's entirety along with some other PF hits last March. Fun show, although the wife was quite bored. ![]() Edited by MillsLayne - April 26 2012 at 21:52 |

Kansas, five times between 1978 and 2011.
The Decemberists, sadly only once but at least it was their Hazards of Love tour!
Yes, Genesis and ELP, but all in the 80s so none of those concerts were as good as they could have been.

Zappa retired from touring before I started going to shows. I did see his son though, before I retired from going to shows.
Also seen Rush (3 times, I think), the Jethros, the Moodies, Neurosis (opening for Pantera!), Kansas, Floyd (post-Waters), Primus, Tool (with Meshuggah opening) and that's all I can think of. (Do TSO count?) |

Yes siree!
Peter Gabriel twice in 2002, Québec city. First in rehearsals (the first 1000 ticket holders to show up at the arena would be allowed entry) then the proper gig a couple of months later. Funny thing is that Québec city wasn't even considered by the Gabriel crew for the Up tour, but they needed a place to rehearse so it was like : If you could add Québec city to your itinary then the arena is all yours. And a true gift to the fans it was.
Yes! I will leave this world with a smile on my face. |

My favorite prog artist has changed over the years of those that are waaaay up there.
Pink Floyd - '82 (i think) King Crimson - 3 times The absolute highlight has to be Univers Zero who I never thought I'd get to see. I got to see them play Washington DC at Sonic Circuit having driven from Cincinnati for that one night of music (Miriodor as support were also fantastic) I was in heaven that evening. I flew to France last year for RIO to specifically see Univers Zero-Present-Aranis as One Night In Belgium, midblowingly good. This year I'm going back to France to get to see Magma for the first time. |
