Our album is for free on bandcamp (link below the bio). We're a progressive metal band based out of TN, and we'd love to hear some feedback

OCEAN ARCHITECTURE formed in September of 2010 by Nic GIORDANO, Kyle STANDIFER and UNTIL SUNRISE founding member Joe DORSEY while at school at MTSU in Murfreesboro, TN. During the first band practice, the three wrote their very first track (Metatheory) and decided that the project had potential as a serious project. Very soon after, Eric HODGE, a friend of the band, was added to the lineup, followed by BEAUTIFUL DYING DAY founding member Parker DEAL.

The band's style of music covers the entire spectrum of progressive and metal music; the members collectively have deep-rooted backgrounds in progressive rock, technical metal, jazz, hardcore, indie rock, singer-songwriter/folk, post rock, and pop punk. Through early 2011, they recorded a few live demos in the basement of the Lyon dorm at MTSU. Their debut album "Animus" was conceived in less than a year, and production for the record began in the summer of 2011 and ended in early 2012, just days before the final release on March 25th.

Since their inception, OCEAN ARCHITECTURE is rising to an intimidating presence quickly. They are working on a second EP release, and have already shared the stage with BORN OF OSIRIS, VEIL OF MAYA, STRUCTURES, EMERY and SENT BY RAVENS. Recommended for fans of BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME, MUSE, DREAM THEATER, ANATHEMA, and Devin TOWNSEND.

And here is our BANDCAMP where you can download the album for free.

Sincere apologies this took me so long; it's been on my "to-review" list for a long time but somehow I just now got around to actually putting words on paper (figuratively speaking).

Really well done, guys, it's a heck of an album.

Just downloaded it, I'll probably get a review out in the next, say, 6 months or so. Tongue

I hope to review it soon, because I've had very polarized opinions. Musically you guys are off the map. I'd say in league with Haken for new Prog Metal. But you're killing me with the vocals. Clean Melodic vocals suit the stuff you're doing so much better.

I have to agree. Awesome playing! If I'd accidentally been at that gig, I would have been open mouthed!

Yeah I gotcha. We knew we'd be alienating a lot of people with the dirty vocals...but its just our style I guess. Glad you like the music though!

Well, it's not free anymore, I think?...

But, in fact, the sound is killer!
