Mine too is very different. My actual favorites of the year: 1 Non Credo - Happy Wretched Family 2 Trembling Strain - Four Pictures 3 Arnold Dreyblatt - Animal Magnetism 4 Trembling Strain - Anthems to Raise the Dead 5 Can - The Peel Sessions (recorded in early 70's) 2 - 4 should/could be in PA, but aren't.

I only have 5 of those:(not in order)
The Gathering - Mandylion Blind Guardian - IFTOS Conception - In Your Multitude Savatage - Dead Winter Dead Shadow Gallery - Carved In Stone I think the Savatage album would win out for me, here, as it's maybe my favorite 'Tage album. The Blind Guardian album is really good to, many BG fans favorite, though not my favorite. The Conception album is so-so, I'd rather hear Roy Khan's work with Kamelot, quite frankly. Shadow Gallery's Carved In Stone has my favorite SG song, 'Cliff Hanger', that has one of the most killer guitar solos ever, imo. And The Gathering album is pretty decent, though it's outside my normal female-fronted metal genre. Edited by Jbird - May 09 2012 at 19:16 |

Written In Waters - Ved Buens Ende (chaotic and brilliant) In Your Multitude - Conception (I grew up with this LP) Imaginations from the Other Side - Blind Guardian (same here) Carved In Stone - Shadow Gallery (what I call priceless prog ) Afraid of Sunlight - Marillion (okay Hogarth-era) |

^ For me, every Prog year has gems.
I only know the Non Credo of those. For me, without easily being able to check my collection for year. 1. Art Zoyd - Faust. I know you're not such a fan of that Art Zoyd period. 2. Non Credo - Happy Wretched Family 3. Die Anarchistische Abendunterhaltung - s/t 4. Doctor Nerve - Skin 5. Tipographica - The Man Who Does Not Nod and Hoyry-Kone - Hyonteisia voi Rakastaa Edited by Logan - May 10 2012 at 07:42 |
