If you think about it, part 3 doesn't really fit as it's in that style from the 80s albums, and part 4 doesn't really fit because it's more on the THRAK side of things. The LTIA's evolved with whatever was the current KC lineup. |

I remember a long time ago, making a playlist and listening to LTIA 1-4 and Level Five. It's kind of a hard listen, as can be expected, but I recall Level Five capped things off nicely. I'm telling you, it's part 5.
KC did the same thing with Frakture. There's a part 2 and 3, though they have slightly different names. |

That's true. I always did find it odd that Fripp expanded on the original classic though. There's something fantastic about the first two parts that he couldn't really do again with the next two (or three) parts. It's odd that I was just listening to the original LTiA on vinyl today. It was a glorious experience as always.

I'd love to hear all the KC albums on vinyl, especially the 70s albums and TPTB.

Speaking of LTIA part 4, has anyone heard the version that is on the Happy With What You Have To Be Happy With EP? It has LTIA part 4 as one track, and it's a different studio recording; and to be honest, and much better version than the one that made it onto The Construktion of Light.

http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=16776 Plus, there was another discussion on YesFans forum where a user claimed that "Level Five might as well be the 5th in the series of Larks". He then went on to give a shady attempt to explore the psychology of Mr. Robert Fripp. http://www.yesfans.com/archive/index.php/t-20557.html As for me? I think that there is a reason why part IV had a Coda and I'll leave it at that.

Here we go... another useless survivor poll.
Anyway, pt 3 is my least favourite. Pt. 4 is pretty interesting due to marvellous rhythm, though lyrics in Coda are something that completely destroyed the whole idea of an instrumental epic. Pt. 2 is great, but not my favourite, so my truly favourite part is the first one. |

Well, I don't know if it's supposed to be part 5, but Level 5 is a hell of a song. Though I would be put on a hard choice between Level 5 and Larks part 2.

I recall discussions of Level Five being part 5 on these forums, or maybe reviews, back in 2005/2006.
