Topic: Van der Graaf Generator Paris '72 Footage Posted: June 16 2012 at 00:47
Parts of this have been posted before on YouTube (Lost
& Killer) but from 10:07 forward, there's footage of the band playing
Octopus (which I don't believe has been posted before). It's the kind of
avant-garde, psychotic madness that VdGG was (in)famous for at the time. All at
once, you can see why some regarded them as geniuses and most others were left
going "huh?"

Mmmmmm....lovely.
Dig me...But don't...Bury me I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect.
*jaw drops* Incredible footage and pretty good quality for early 70's live TV; most likely slightly refined and edited. Wow, Guy is a monster on those drums playing some pretty challenging rhythms and Hugh's playing and Hammond tone are pristine. Thanks for sharing!

Hey Bucka001, will you be at NEARfest? If so, I'd love to purchase your book. Let me know.
No, but I will be flying out a week later to see them in NYC. But even if I was going to be at NF, I only have my one copy of The Book! I wish I had some to give out/sell, but all remaining copies are in England (and I'm in Chicago). The only way to buy it is through the VdGG website.
