Petr Novak is known as a pop rock singer (and was with Flamengo for some time) and his music for the early 70's years is very Beatles influenced and bit psychedelic. Someone more familiar with his career might gather how good is his early stuff. There are some decent english bios here and here.

This is a sample from an 1971 album.

However, the last interesting album in his career is supposedly the rock opera from 1975 which is based on the fairy tale "Beauty and the beast"but set in modern times and I find it pretty decent, it certainly has prog leanings at least. Reissues have different track lists, rym has two sidelong tracks so maybe that was the original format on the LP, as it is here in the samples with the whole album (around 40 minutes).

It's kind of weak on the prog side, but he might have just enough for xover. I'll alert the team.

Glad you liked it. Yeah, I've been going through his stuff and I do admit that I don't find that much going for him in the prog area in the rest of his career at all (of the little material I could find at the moment), except that one concept album  above which I really do consider progressive even if it's dominated by vocals. Here's something of a long track from the  "Ve Jménu Lásky" though, album before"Kráska A Zvíře":

I think Petr Novák has some progressive moments. It's about definition. I like him. Kráska a zvíře is great!

:-O It's quite surprising (in a good way) to find you guy liking his music.
Nah, not liking (that's not weird), but knowing, as I thought he's one of the unknown (and I mean far less unknown than unknown Prog bands we have here).

So cheers, let's get him to the Crossover :-)
There's a point where "avant-garde" and "experimental" becomes "terrible" and "pointless,"

I think Petr Novˇ§ˇék offers some progressive times. It's really down to explanation. I like your ex. Krˇ§ˇéska a new zvˇ§a?elizabeth is fantastic!
