I read somewhere that Ritchie Blackmore wanted originally for bass player in Rainbow John Glascock...

I'am happy that Tull won this race, but Rainbow with Dio in vocals and John Glascock in backing vocals is something I would like to know what would sound like.

I'd like to listen them play neo-classical rock, influenced by renaissance, baroque and classical music. Something in the vein of Deep Purple's April.

All the musicians except for Squire did record classically-influenced music (does Wakeman's Catherine of Aragon count?), but I'm sure he'd have been able to provide some interesting contrapuntal basslines.

Not particularly proggy, but how about some from the group of 27?
- Jim Morrison on vocals.
- Jannis Joplin on vocals.
- Jimmi Hendrix on guitars, and additional vocals.

Now, to round up such a line-up... I guess for keybaord's the Door's same Ray Manzarek would be wonderful. But I wouldn't know which american bass player and drummer would fit nicely here. Or perhaps I could cheat and put in Camel's classic line-up rhythm section?

Sir Charles generally followed the rules and is thus not strictly prog. Laimbeer, on the other hand, played basketball the same way Emerson stuck knives in his Hammond.

I figure if Trump made a hard move to the lane while Annie sang "Midas Man," Laimbeer would handle the situation decisively. This would be a very progressive show.

I'm imagining some incredibly saucy psych, jazz, post punk, avant and everything in between. This band makes loooong tunes with emphasis on crushing riffs and Toby's voice that sounds like the dove from above run through a synthesiser. They're called 'Papa's Dim Sum' and they always end their tours in Scandinavia, where they hang out with a local Dane that feeds them secret gummiberry juice and they end up recording the modern equivalent of Hot Rats on his lawn due to a wonderful new idea of moving the recording studio outside.

I randomly saw Hiromi at a jazz festival in 2005, without knowing anything about her. I guess she was just starting out internationally at that time. When she started to play...my jaw was on the floor, along with everyone else's in the audience. It's probably still the most awe-inspiring display of sheer musical technique I've witnessed. When she stood up at the end I was kind of surprised the piano didn't fall apart. Hell, I was surprised she still had hands
