I really enjoyed reading your DT review Jonas, thanks for that
I don't think I will be picking it up, but it was a very nice review

wow, just read that review- some beautiful words   there  Patricia....

The Garden of my life has finally started to blossom and though even to this day there is a lot of weeding and upkeep to do I can be proud to look on the flowers of the friendships and love I have nurtured along the way. Like a fragile and beautiful flower the friendship between two people needs to be cared for and looked after or else it will wither and die. The blossoms of passion need to be watered and looked after regularly or they will be there for you no more. These are the things I have taught myself when I have remembered that "the measure of a life is a measure of love and respect".

Very nice!

SmileI wouldn't consider it a masterpiece, but in my opinion it's still better than The Final Cut or any Roger Waters solo album.I didn't know John Helliwell played on this album but I'm thinking now: did he play on this album because David Gilmour was on Supertramp's Brother Where You Bound (another album in the same circumstances) two years earlier?

Yes. I agree.
You know it's funny cause ever since I've been a member of PA I've been trying to tell people just how unbelievably awesome this album is. It's nice to see Jason having a high regard for AMLIR.
His review did it some much needed justice. I stand by his review and the album of course. ;)
It's in my top 3 as well. ;)

Ah what the hell. I just bought a new DAC so I'm gonna listen to it right now.

Thank you!  I've been especially obsessed with that album recently, and I have some other older albums I need to review soon.  I'm not sure why John played on this album, but I imagine he was Gilmour's first choice.

Yes, great reviews in for the new Swans "To Be Kind" album so far.  I still haven't found the right words to describe "The Seer".  One great thing about this new one that really puts it over the edge is the increased attention to detail.  The Seer painted in broad strokes, and this one does too, but this one really makes you think that every note was carefully crafted to make the perfect sound - and it still sounds spontaneous and emotional.  Isn't that what everyone would want with an album?

^ Indeed Austin!
That and Dobermensch's review were really great reads:-)
I highly doubt any of the two will see this little gesture though. I know Lewis (Dober) and he doesn't frequent the fora.

Now I really need to get my hands on this baby! If Lewis rates an album 5, then there has got to be something about it. He uses them very sparingly, and he listens to a lot of the same weird stuff as I do. Yup I'm buying this, that's for damn sure:-)

Aldebaran_Well has a great Swans review. Captures some of the great, mystical energy Swans exhibit.

Here is another one of these....
I read the whole thing and really understood some of the deeper and darker places you've been in your life.
It's a beautiful, non traditional review. Your connection to the lyrics was brilliant.
Thank you for an inspiring read. We can all change, grow and rediscover what we truly love in life with greater passion than ever before. Being fair to yourself is the first step towards a quality life. NEVER deprive yourself of the things you love, especially quality Prog that YOU have taken upon yourself to discover and journey through.
I wish you well. 'A measure of a life/is a measure of love and respect.'
Truer words could have not have been sung/said more beautifully.

Amen, Dave! What a review from Patricia! That's what I like to see, passion and personal connection!

I just posted a review right after it, so I kind of feel like a band following Pink Floyd!

My hat's off to you Patricia, that Rush review took some real courage.
Thank you for being so honest, and thank you for a wonderful write up that I couldn't stop reading.
