Thank you, I really appreciate itSmile
.....and you're not the only one who loves Michael's reviews - trust me, I've followed him from the get-go, and I have never read anything less than stellar from him.

Yeah, I concur. Just read your Dedicato a Frazz and Ys reviews, David. Great albums, great reviews!

Hey Dave! A few years ago I played Ys. to a friend of mine, he took the album home and a few days later he came back to me and said it was like The Mars Volta only in Italian. Funny you just mentioned this in your review. Thumbs Up

Dave, totallty agree with the others, your recent manic run has been inspiring! It's given me a bit of a well-needed kick up the kangaroo butt to finish off and publish several reviews I've got 95% percent done that are just sitting in limbo! So that's two thumbs UP from DOWN under!

Oh, and Damo, awesome to see your review of the Fractals album by Asturias, you know that's a special one for me!

In my dream last night, I was back at school taking a final exam, but the teacher had said we could skip the essay question if we wanted to write two album reviews instead.  I remember panicking, trying to decide what to review.  And then my pen didn't work, bla bla bla woke up screaming bla bla

Thanks John I really appreciate it. I had a Xaal day! I listened to their debut as well and a bootleg cd which is actually their EP released only on cassette, extremely rare! I hope I'll get the chance to review it very soon.

Just a quick shout out to my good friend Nick (Progbethyname) who is really working the cause, especially for prog metal reviews! His recent Sound of Contact review was very informative, and he's topped it just now with the Royal Hunt one.

To be honest, he's helping me how to approach reviewing some more prog-metal releases in the future, so I'm watching carefully!

Good work, buddy!

Yes. It happened that I received unitl last saturday a PM from a person who sent it in June 24, about one of my reviews which he liked it.

I really liked both Bonestorm's review of Karnivool's latest (http://www.progarchives.com/Review.asp?id=1003513)  and also Marty Mcfly's review of Haken's demo (an amazing album in and of itself) http://www.progarchives.com/Review.asp?id=1003512 .

A quick mention to my fellow Italian Den compadre Sagichim, and his sensational review of one of my favourite albums - `Mansun - Six'. He reviewed it better than I could ever hope to!

http://www.progarchives.com/Review.asp?id=1007968

Those that haven't heard the album, make the time to do so!

I agree with the kangaroo - great review Sagi.
Made me curious about the album - one that I believe I've heard mentioned a few times before, but for some reason never really picked up on. Maybe I should remedy thatBig smile

Skitbra LinusClap

One of my friends described the album as the soundtrack to an opium den. Maybe it's because he hasn't heard any psych music from the 1970s German scene, but I always found that remark kind of funny. I mean, I certainly don't think of this album as psych - but having thought about what he said -  literally every time I put the album on - I think I know what he means. There's a thick aura about it, almost feels like sauce.

David has a very tactile way of describing music.  He uses descriptions that first make me say "WHA??" and then I think about it and and say "He's right, you know."

That's what I like most about this site. So many different ways of describing an album and most of them perfectly valid and useful Smile.
