Hey John about your Sky Architect review, I've had a hard time with that album and still do. I'm not sure what it is but it just doesn't do it for me, it's time to give it another spin but I doubt It'll sound better...
You've mentioned their second album, I gotta say it's so much better than Billion Years Of Solitude, of course some may disagree but you should definitely check it out. Excavation Of The Mind I agree is their best album but this is still excellent with some of their best moments! Here's a taste... Starts at 6:16 |

I second Sagi's sentiment on this John. In fact, I think they recorded their best tune ever on that album:

It's so good to get some feedback, thanks Sagi and David! Of course my comments about their second album were based on ratings here so it's great to hear from two people with similar tastes as mine recommend it. I will check out the links guys and thanks again. I appreciate your comment about their latest Sagi as sometimes I feel like a lone wolf when all I see is high ratings and I don't feel the same way.

^ Thanks infocat for the opinions, and I do have issues with long albums.

I listened to several tunes off of their On Dry Land album last night and really enjoyed it. The upfront bass, passionate vocals and interesting lyrics all stood out.

Great Krokofant review, John! I've wanted to review that one for quite some time, but I'm not much of a reviewer, never seem to find the right words, and you described it so much better than I ever could. Thanks!

Quality review from Paul (Nightfly) on Karnataka's latest
Having listened to the band's previous albums, I can fully appreciate if I am going to like it or not. Nice descriptions and "visualisation" of the music. Short and sweet. |

Thanks Audun! I was actually really surprised I was the first to review it as i've seen them mentioned quite a few times, especially in relation to the "Best of" for 2014.

Oh, and I think I was the only one who had them on the list for album of the year. But hopefully some of those who read your review will take an interest in checking these talented guys' music out, as the band deserves more attention from the members of this site than they get.

Oh and great to read Michael's review of Deuter's incredible "D" album, a Krautrock classic. The Aussiebird strikes again!

Yes, I'm a big fan of BR. I'd say start with their latest, Thou Shalt Boogie!, perhaps their most proggiest/spaciest album, but you can't go wrong with any of their three preceding regular studio albums, YLMaH, Jitterbug (which features Elephant9's Ståle Storløkken on Hammond on a couple of tracks) and ALBoBB, either.

One of my favorite obscure prog albums from the old days. btw..I attempted to post a social review comment but when I hit comment it did some kind of Facebook connection to someone called Lynn Spenser...???? btw I don't have a facebookie account. What...?
