I really loved seeing two obscurities on the front page in the courtesy of Matti.
Great albums that needs much more attention, Kestrel and Haikara's second album!
I didn't know Kestrel had a reissue with bonus tracks, I'll have to look into that.

Great job man! Clap

I loved Steve's "Hand Cannot Erase" review, I think it was more emotional than the album itself (I'm still trying to get into it Embarrassed)

I'm with you, Sam! You know I haven't been hugely excited by `H.C.E' either, but, Steve, you wrote about it with such passion and emotion. Really glad it means so much to you.

I love the big emotions of your reviews Steve. Makes me believe that music is the most unifying form of expression....mostly because I feel the same way about music that I love.
I am a big fan of almost anything Steve Wilson puts his hands on, maybe except for Blackfield and No-Man - or maybe I just haven't found the keys yet.
Hand.Cannot.Erase. is a beautiful record and I predict it ornamenting the top slot of our annual AOTY thang. You got to hand it to the guy, he obviously appeals to a very wide audience in and about prog rock circles - and we are a notoriously difficult crowd to please. Hell I love him, and that is coming from a person who most frequently listens to some pretty freaky sh*t.
What more? Oh yes: Regret9

I seriously am so confused by SteveG's Hand Cannot Erase review. It's so confusing. He gives it 5 stars but he hates it but he loves it but it's all sarcasm? I'm so f**kinnnng f**king confused.

Maybe that's what I love most about the review. I left with more questions than when I started.

Well, he took a leaf out of Micky's book, and his controversial review of Dream Theater's Scenes from a Memory. Personally, I've never written a 5-star review of an album I hate (I try not to review albums I dislike altogether), but I can see why both of them did.

I enjoyed SteveG''s well written review of Wilson's Hand.Cannot.Erase.  ,but for me it's not a 5 star album...for me 4 stars..maybe. I don't hear anything here that he hasn't done before and better imho.

Really loved Michael's review of Glass Hammer's "The Breaking of the World".  Great job Michael! Clap

Your comments about wanting to see more of them doing a little bit more jazzy interplay instrumentals is something I would love to see also as well as vocals from Susie Bogdanowicz.  The elevator song is classic.

I need to revisit this album since I only gave it less than a handful of listens when I bought it.  Like most of their albums, it takes a few listens to appreciate them.  I have about 3/4s of their albums and most of their work, IMHO, is in the solid 4 to upper 3 ratings, with a couple flirting with that elusive 5.  I still keep waiting for them to just absolutely knock one out of the park.

It reads more like a mockery of the prior review for that album if you ask me, especially going by the first sentence. Like trying to start a flamewar on the first page or something.

I'll strike the out the first line of my review as it does ring of mockery. I will leave the rest. Any supposed flame war you find after that will be entirely in your head, if you feel that a review used as a response to a previous review constitutes such a contest.

Not a new review, but I stumbled on another one of Dave's expressive reviews on Ulver's black album

Fantastic review, one of the best I've ever readClap! By a strange coincidence, earlier this morning I was listening to Ulver's Blood Inside - a vastly different album (I am not a fan of black metal as a whole).
