Probably my third favourite trilogi of films after the Lord of the Rings, and Pirates of the Caribean, i love martial arts, fighting and vampires, and these movies brings in all thosse elemenets, it also brings in the elements of superheros, as well, so it is a horror/gore/superhero movie, and an R rated one at that,
Blade was the move which reignighted the superhero movies in the late 90s, with the first Blade movie, and it is also the movie without the Marvel logo, (it was later added on the second and third movie), Blade is also one of the defining franchises to define the new roles for vampires in media, how they acted among humans, how they dressed, how they managed their buisnesses, the Vampire universe sofisticatedness which we see in todays vampire series started with Blade (and Buffy), Blade is also the first movie with bullettime effect used in a live-action movie, (Max Pain is the firs ever use of Bullettime), but the effect was made a homeknown word with Matrix. I think Blade and Blade II is marvelous and is two of the best superhero/vampire movies to me, Blade: Trinity was a bit downer and to much action flick to be really interesting, it lost the airy, cold and stylistic feal of the two first, and was too fast paced, and Dracula (Drake) was bad casted, (there is some hilarious comments about it on IMdB ), also no-one else can play Blade but Wesley Snipes, hes locked up in jail now for tax-fraud but is out soon in 2014-15 and i wish for a 4th Blade movie, where he hunts the Cullens , or teams up with Selene in Underworld and they make out and get super vamp kids![]() |

I somewhat like the first, but then it went from enjoyable to painful to downright annoying. The first one was still 'novel' - and any film with Kris Kristofferson in it is bound to be just a wee bit cool. The second is some of the worst trite Del Toro ever slabbed his name on, and it truly boggles the mind how this is the same man that went on to make El Laberinto del Fauno
![]() I won't even mention the last one - it doesn't deserve to be mentioned. It is literally that horrible.

The third film is shockingly awful and should be discounted. Blade should be considered a duology - both films are very good, but the first one is the best.
