Tai Shan, imo, is a good song but doesn't really fit on the album. It almost sounds too much the same and too different at the same time, if that makes any sense. I always felt like the album lost momentum at the end because of the song and it would have been better if they went right into High Water, and then released Tai Shan as a standalone single or something; it would have made sense, especially if they used it to raise funds for some cause in China or something.

Haha! I guess the reason I dislike Tai Shan and High Water so much does have a lot to do with their placement on the album. Turn the Page would have been an excellent closer to a pretty strong album (It's also one of my favorite Rush songs). Having two pieces follow it, specifically two that are comparatively low energy cheapens the ending for me, similar to having an epilogue to a completed story. "And they lived happily ever after... EPILOGUE: They spent their days going to work and eating so they could stay alive."
But ya'll seem to like those songs, so I'll shut up now
