Hi all,  I'm very happy I found this site for the music we all love so much.  I'm a big fan of classic progressive rock.  I have a question to start things off.  Is there a section for trading CDs.  I've looked through the list, but maybe I've missed it.  Thanks and I look forward to sharing my opinions/ideas.

Sorry I forgot to list the music I like.  Ok, my favorite bands are:
Citizen Cain
Saga
Emerson, Lake, & Palmer
Marillion (until "This Strange Engine")
Magellan
Cairo
Yes
Asia
The Buggles (not sure if they count as Prog)
Rush (until "Grace Under Pressure")

I'm not crazy about the new wave of Prog.  I don't get the crazy love out there for:
Steven Wilson solo
Porcupine Tree
Haken
There are others I can't think of at this moment.

Good day to all.

Hello, welcome aboard. I'm not sure if there is a trading CDs section, or if it's allowed here, but I can tell you there is a vast amount of members with vasts amounts if information about vasts amounts of music. After 7 years here, I'm still finding new stuff that I can't believe I haven't heard yet. Have fun!

Welcome to PA.  Like the other guys said, there's no CD trading here as of now, but you could probably start a thread, maybe in the general music discussions forum.
If you haven't been too impressed with newer prog music, I would recommend Glass Hammer, as well as some Neal Morse; they're two modern symphonic prog artists who hearken back to the old days.

Oh, I didn't know there were rules about that.  You're right; we always have to be careful doing business on a multi-national forum.

That gives me an idea, though: don't you think PA should have a theme song?

I suggested Marillion's Freaks a couple of years ago. Tongue
Dig me...But don't...Bury me
I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive
Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect.

I think it should be something that almost every proghead knows ... something proggy ... ?

^ This could have been a pretty clever choice, both musically and lyrically, has it not been for the following verse:

You're just another face that I know from the tv show
I have known you for so very long I feel you like a friend
Can't you do anything for me, can I touch you for a while
Can I meet you another day and we will fly away
