I think there will be an overwhelming number of votes for "I'm a man and I don't know lots of women who like prog".

In real life, i know a few prog fans. My dad, my uncle, and my mom. And I know quite a few of prog fans here, almost all of them being male. So I know very few women proggers compared to guy proggers.

I'm a man and voted for the middle option. I do know women who like prog, but it's not that many though.
Usually they'll listen to Porcupine Tree, Pure Reason Revolution and other stuff that roams the more melodic side of the fence.
Still, they're out there!Big smile
Nice to know that we have one more here at the site. Welcome Glucose!

To be fair I don't really know what the women I know like as I'm too shy to talk to them.

Ah, thanks! Embarrassed
btw I have to say I don't know lots of songs from Porcupine tree, neither the second band. VDGG, Yes and Genesis that's mine..
And when there are handsome men in the band, it's even better.

Can you really know somebody, if you're too shy to talk to them?
But I guess you have a point.

You're actually the first woman that I've ever talked to, who likes Van Der Graff GeneratorShockedBig smileClap
Will you marry me?
 Just kidding....
But I do find that to be a wonderful thing though... All the girls I've ever played VDGG to - seemed scared or just plain hostile - and to think that I always start out with something melodic and smooth like My Room....

I talk to them when they talk to me, which is not very often.

You should charm them with your Finnish ways - and infinite knowledge on progressive music.

Feeling sad about it because VanDerGraaf is my fav band from all prog rock bands, and there are probably not more than 2 or 3 women in the world who likes them.

there are certain topics that are allways possible to talk about or start conversation. The weather, the family, the musical taste :)

Well as long as you like them, then that hopefully should be enough. Nothing can ever take that away from you.
But yeah, sometimes it can get a little lonely not being able to share one's musical tastes with friends and family.

It would be unnatural for me, I'm afraid. When I start talking about the weather I always do it in an ironic way.

Poor we prog fans. Only few people from the world know the greatest genre of music! Ouch Poor majority people. Big smile
