Does anyone else think it's strange that these two bands have both released albums around the same time(about a week apart)after being away for five years?
Echolyn's last album was in 2005 so I can't include them. It reminds me of when both Yes and Pink Floyd released albums in 1994 after not having had an official release since 1987(both released around the same time then too). Are there any other coincidences like this you can think of? |

Yes released Union in 1991.
I think that FloKi/Rush is just coincidence. |

Yes, there is a secret rivalry between these acts. They are trying to put each other out of business by releasing their albums they have been working on at similar times.
That or, they are two release dates that have no relationship.

I always thought it was strange that Spock's Beard and Symphony X released albums called "V" on the same year and they both had the same color scheme for the album cover.

Rush (best canadian band)
Flower Kings (best prog sweden band?) Echolyn (best americain band?) If Anglagard would have release their album before July, it would have been a incredible coincidence! |

I don't think there is any correlation whatsoever. For a start, Flower Kings were on an official hiatus, and Rush were not.

I always find it odd that bands release albums in the same year...that should be against the law

It's widely known that Stolt is actually Geddy Lee's brother to an unknown woman who happened to be Neil Peart's grandmother. Hence, there's a lot of animosity between them.

It's because when the prog world knew that Rush were about to release
their cd in June. They all "rush things up" to make their own cd the
same month. Anglagard didn't quiet make it or did they? I think it was
not the right move since you can't beat Rush in sales...

Yes, Flower are more prog, and the overall cd better than the Rush one. |

I never typed the word "prog" in my original comment, nor was it insinuated.
