Revisited these guys recently and had my mind blown once again, almost forgot how ridiculously good this band were in their prime with Demetrio Stratos on vocals. What's your favorite studio album from this awesome Italian fusion band?

I've never heard the last two, but the other five are pretty close in quality. I'd say the one I reach for most often is probably Maledetti, so I'll vote for that.

My thoughts exactly, although I am waiting a bit with my vote. Think I am gonna have a little Area marathon later on. Yummy! Time to scare off the neighbours once again

Blasted Caution Radiation on full volume with my windows open here the other day (a warm and nice day with all neighbours outside) I hope I recruited some new fans

I did a similar thing with Art Zoyd's Berlin while watering my mom's roses - and I can safely say that I wasn't successful in recruiting new fans. Most of the people who took notice looked at me like I was an escaped felon from a madhouse prison...

WOOT. I am going to vote for their first album simply because I got the most "wow" moments on that one. But seriously... WOOT AREA

I'm not really familiar with the last three, but of the first four I'll choose this as my order:
1. Caution Radiation Area 2. Crac! 3. Arbeit Macht Frei 4. Maledetti I was already big on the first two albums, plus Maledetti, but it wasn't until I heard Caution Radiation Area, particularly for "Mirage", that I became really big on Area. Terrific band. |

CRA is a personal favorite of mine due to it's wild weirdness, "Cometa Rossa"s main riff makes my day everytime. My list, Crac! Arbeit Maledetti/Caution 1978 Tic & Tac Will give Chernobyl a full listen soon (that one and T&T are available on youtube btw), I like what I've heard from it so far. I've tried to look after some Area II, Giulio Capiozzi's side project from the mid 80's, but I can't find their two albums anywhere.. |

Thanks for the tip; I'll look those up on youtube. Please let me know if ever you can find that side-project, as I'd be interested. |

Hmm....quite difficult.
I'll go with the Debut, but the first five are all magic.

Excellent news with the Tube. For some reason I've always wanted to hear Cherobyl so I'll give it a listen soon.

I have only Maldetti, and it rather scared me off getting anything else. But if I come upon one of the first few I may give it a shot. Please tell me he doesn't do a lot of that infernal "yodel-yelling"!

I only know the first, third and fourth...only own the third and fourth so far, so I won't vote yet. All are awesome, though.

^^More like rocking circus music with a twist, and yes he does some fabulous yodeling as well. Maledetti is however throwing oneself directly into the deep end. You should try Crac or 1978 Gli dei...

Its been years since I last listened to Maledetti, and can't really remember it. I love all kinds of yodels (whether from the alps, prairies or by Demetrio Stratos or Leon Thomas), so I'm gonna locate it and give it a spin sometime soon. Their three first are the onees I keep close at hand, and Caution Radiation Area is the one I reach for mot often.
